Nine casualties in a coalition airstrike targeted presidential security forces military vehicle

Eyewitnesses said that an Apache of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition launched on Sunday an airstrike on a military vehicle belonging to the presidential security forces in Aden Airport, southern Yemen.

The sources told Almasdaronline that nine soldiers were killed and injured in the airstrike.

It is noteworthy that this incident came hours after the tension around Aden Airport had escalated due to the rejection of the airport security commander of implementing a presidential decree providing for handing over the security duties at the airport to the presidential security forces.

According to sources in Aden city, the tension in the airport had been going on since two days, when the presidential security forces imposed a siege on Aden Airport in an attempt to implement the presidential decree by force and take over the airport from the security forces existing in the airport.

Earlier on Saturday night, limited gunfire was heard in Caltex roundabout on the road leading to the airport, which turned to be clashes between presidential security forces and militants loyal to Aden Airport security commander Saleh al Omiri, who was rejecting the presidential decree.
