Taiz: vegetables vendor killed in clashes between militants and pro-government forces, child killed in Houthi shelling

Eyewitnesses said on Tuesday that a civilian was killed in clashes between the pro-government forces and outlaw militants in the Central Market in Jamal Street, central Taiz city, southwestern Yemen.

The eyewitnesses told Almasdaronline that the vegetables vendor Jalal was killed at 7pm on Tuesday evening in the clashes.

The clashes have renewed between the pro-government forces in Taiz and the militants one day after similar clashes had erupted between these militants and the Qat venders, which resulted in the death of one civilians and the injury of two others.

Following the fall of casualties on Monday, dozens of residents of Taiz protested on Tuesday calling on the government authorities to pursue the perpetrators and protect the civilians’ lives.

On the other hand, a local source in Taiz have told Almasdaronline that the 14-year-old Helmi Abdo al Sagheer was killed on Monday in artillery shelling launched by the Houthi-Saleh militias on al Noor residential city, western Taiz.

Meanwhile, a source in the field stated on Monday that the fighter jets of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition have launched two airstrikes on Houthi-Saleh ammunition stores in al Baradeg site, western Maqbanah district of Taiz.

The source added that casualties were likely to have fallen in the coalition aerial bombardment.
