The spokesperson of the pro-government forces and the popular resistance in al Jawf province in northeastern Yemen said on Sunday that a prominent figure of the forces loyal to the Houthi group and former president Saleh and a number of his security guards have joined the pro-government forces.

The spokesperson Abdullah al Ashraf wrote on his Facebok page that the Houthi leader Mohsen Hasan al Nofi has joined the Sixth Military Region of the government force along with his security guards.

“The deputy governor of al Jawf has called on the figures and members of the Houthi group from al Jawf tribes to join the pro-government forces.” The spokesperson added.

“Meanwhile, the pro-government forces have destroyed an armored vehicle for the Houthis and allied forces in Sabrin front in northern al Jawf”.
