Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi met with the Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkin in the Saudi capital of Riyadh to discuss issues of mutual interest to the two countries, Saba news agency reported on Sunday.

The Russian ambassador expressed his country's aspiration that Yemen achieves peace, pointing out that Russia will provide a package of humanitarian aids to the Yemeni people. Added Saba news agency.

On the one hand, President Hadi praised Russia's support for Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy since the beginning of the political transformation process, and its supportive stand to the GCC initiative and the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) outputs.

“Hadi also noted the important role Russia plays with the international community to support Yemen at all phases and conditions to achieve peace, based on the three reference points; GCC initiative, NDC outputs, and the relevant UN resolutions, in particular resolution 2216”.
