22 deaths in 5 days; Cholera deaths rise to about 2,000 in Yemen

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Saturday that 22 death cases of cholera epidemic were recorded over the past five days in Yemen rising the total death toll to 1997 cases since late April,

 

The WHO report stated that 527,470 suspected cases of the epidemic were registered, while Sana'a and Hodeidah cities are the most prevalent outbreaks of the epidemic, as more than 62,000 cases were recorded in those two cities.

 

"Hajah province, northwestern Yemen, recorded the highest number of deaths by 381 cases, during the same period, and that Socotra province is the only city that never had any infected cases of the epidemic.''
