A local source said on Wednesday that the Houthis gunmen shot on the International Medical Corps team in Qahza area western Ibb city, central Yemen, without giving reasons of the shooting.

The source told Almasderonline that the team came to Qahza area with the General Secretary of the Local Council in Ibb province, Ameen al Warafi, and other local officials to implement one of the environmental activities in the region.

The source said that the team was being shot by the Houthis gunmen when they left the area, and no casualties reported.

It is noteworthy that the Houthis had kidnapped, months ago, 9 staff members of the organization and took them to a prison in the province, and then released them few days later.

In the context, the Houthis turned the Psychiatric clinic near the central prison into an additional space as a prison after they have forced the patients to leave, justifying that the inmates numbers have increased into 1700 person while the prison capacity is only for about 800.
