Saudi Arabia denied on Tuesday the validity of a UN report accusing it of deliberately targeting farms in Yemen during the Arab coalition military operations.
That came in a statement issued by Noura al Jabreen, the first secretary of the Saudi Permanent Mission to the United Nations, published by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) in response to the report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food Ms. Hilal Elfer
"The information about Saudi Arabia deliberately targeting farms in Yemen during the military operations is baseless and unacceptable to be presented in such an international report," Nora said.
She expressed regret that the report was based on yellow newspapers as a source of information, and the report author was not accurate in collecting information from the right sources.
The Saudi intervention in Yemen came in response to the invitation of the Yemen legitimate President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi to restore legitimacy and ensure the security against the Houthis-Saleh forces. Nora added.
She called on the UN officials to be accurate in collecting the information and ensure its credibility, taking it from its official sources before publishing such allegations.
