Shabwah.. Security campaign to evacuate civilians from government buildings and facilities

The joint forces in the southeastern province of Shabwah began implementation of the first phase of the security campaign to evacuate government buildings and facilities controlled by civilians, following the withdrawal of the Houthis from the city of Ataq in mid-August 2015.

the provincial commander of the joint forces in the province, Col. Ali Mohammed Mojawar, said in a press statement that “The first phase of the campaign is aimed at evacuating 16 government buildings and facilities in the city of Ataq”.

He noted that the military operations did not collide with civilians who controlled those buildings by force of arms.

He praised the great responsiveness shown by citizens to the campaign on its first day, and called on the rest to show the same response "and to ensure the preservation of public interests and property and to make it play its role in serving the province as required."

He said the second phase of the security campaign will target government buildings and facilities that were raided during the same period in the province's directorates.

The joint forces are a security force formed by all military and security units in the province.
