Unidentified people kidnap international immigration officer in Sana'a

An international Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Sunday that one of its Yemeni employees was kidnapped earlier by unidentified assailants in the capital, Sanaa.

"We are very concerned about the safety of one of our Yemeni employees, and we understand that he was kidnapped by unknown people," the organization said in a tweet on its Twitter homepage.

It added that we are working with the al-Houthi and United Nations authorities in Yemen to secure his release, "and we strongly appeal to those responsible for his immediate release."

The organization did not explain who abducted the staff member.
