Houthi attack on al-Anad military base  leavig dead and wounded in Lahj


A heavy explosion targeted a military parade of government troops at the al-Anad airbase north of the southern province of Lahj on Thursday, injuring a number of military leaders, including the chief of staff.

A military source told Al-Masdar online that the explosion occurred during a military parade in the presence of prominent military leaders, including chief of Staff Salem al-Nakh’ee, deputy General Saleh Zandani, commander of the Fourth military region, Fadl Hassan, governor of the province of Lahj Ahmed Al-Turki and other leaders.

According to the reports, Al- Nakh’ee and Hassan were slightly injured, while a number of soldiers and military commanders fell dead and wounded.

On the one hand, the al-Houthi group announced the operation with a drone.

The group's spokesperson Al-Masirah TV  channel reported that "The drone forces and the People's committees have launched an attack on groups of invaders and mercenaries at the al-Anad base in Lahj province,"

"The aerial attack was followed by careful monitoring of the rallies and movements of the forces of aggression and mercenaries inside the base of al-Anad," a group source was quoted as saying.
