Fourth Islah leader dies of Houthi torture in Hodeida

A leader of Islah party died on Wednesday in Hodeida governorate, west of Yemen, as a result of the torture practiced on him by the Houthi and Saleh militants during the period of his abduction.

A statement issued by Islah party in Hodeida, and received by Almasdaronline, stated that Mohammed Hashebri, the party's leader in al Qanawes district, died of the torture he received in his place of detention in al Zaydiah district, northern Hodeida city.

The statement said that Hashebri was the fourth leader of the party to die under torture, since the Houthis' control of Hodeida coastal governorate.

Islah party mourned the death of Hashebri, and called for "condemnation of these atrocities," holding the Houthi group and its leaders responsible for his death.
