Deputy Interior Minister says al-Qaeda members receive salaries from ex-president

The Yemeni Deputy Minister of Interior, Ali Nasser Laksha', said on Wednesday that

a number of al-Qaeda elements were receiving

salaries from the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

In a statement to the Saudi "Al Watan" newspaper, Laksha' said that a number of former prisoners of al-Qaeda "were receiving regular salaries from the ousted president Saleh".

He pointed out the extremist militants  were behind the recent bombings in Aden.

The extremists are tasked with targeting the legitimate government officials, stirring chaos in the liberated cities, murdering the national army officers, and shaking confidence of the security services, according to Laksha'.
