20 coup militants and 7 government forces soldiers killed in escalating clashes east of Sana'a

The battles between the government and pro-government forces with the Houthi and Saleh forces have intensified in the last two days, and casualties fell from both sides. 

 

Military sources have confirmed to Almasdaronline that nearly 20 militants of the Houthi and allied forces and 7 government soldiers were killed when the government forces launched an attack on the rebels sites in Nehm district, eastern the capital Sana'a. 

 

The government forces media centre has quoted a military source as saying that army units have seized control of the entire al Osbaa area, engaged in fierce clashes with the rebels in al Sufini and al Mariha mounts, and are surrounding groups of Houthi and allied militants in al Qatab mount, adding that the clashes has been heavily flaring since Thursday morning. 

 

Meanwhile, the fighters of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition have launched several air raids on the Houthi sites in Nehm destroying 3 military vehicles carrying militants and ammunition. 

 

It is noteworthy that the Army Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali al Maqdashi, visited Nehm front on Thursday and was briefed on the progress of the battles in the area.
