Battles between government forces and Houthis intensify in Lahj, and exchanged attacks eastern Taiz

The fighting between the government forces with the Houthi and allied forces has escalated in al Mahawla front in al Madhareba district, north of Lahij governorate, southern Yemen.

 

A military source told Almasdaronline that the fighting has renewed and flared following a Houthi artillery attack from the direction of al Wazeyah district.

The fighting resulted in deaths and injuries from the Houthis militants, in addition to the killing of two government soldiers by a Houthi shell which hit al Musharaf site.

 

Meanwhile, the battles between the rebels and the government forces are also ongoing east of Taiz city. The Houthis and allied forces have launched intensified attacks on the outskirts of al Tashrifat military camp and al Shaab palace.

 

They also shelled al Kamb neighborhood, al Shuhada square, al Duba area, and al Dhabi highway from their locations in Hawban and al Janad areas east of Taiz.

Early on Sunday, the government forces repelled the deadliest Houthi attack on al Mukalkal and al Madihyn sites.
