Taiz: confrontations in al Mandab, government forces shell Houthi sites

The fierce confrontations are going on flaring up between the government forces against the Houthi and Saleh militias in different fronts in Taiz governorate, southwestern Yemen.

A military source in Taiz city has told Almasdaronline that the government forces artillery bombed on Tuesday Houthi sites in Softil hilm where repels tanks and military vehicles were stationing, noting that the fire was seen in the targeted sites.

The source added that the government forces also fended off a fierce attack launched by the Houthi and Saleh forces on their sites near al Dhabab road.

"The attack came in accordance with fierce fighting raging in Madrat and Gharab regions, while the Houthis have launched artillery shelling on al Sayahi village, but no casualties were reported".

"The Houthi attacks were fended off and they have suffered huge losses in their ranks".

In the costal al Mandab district, a local source confirmed to Almasdaronline that the militias have shelled with Grad missiles and heavy artillery the government forces sites in al Hariqa, which resulted in some injuries.

The source added that the government forces responded by shelling the repels sites in al Omari mount and Thawban area with Katusha rockets and artillery, and a number of the militants were killed and others injured.

Meanwhile, the fighters of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition have lunched tow air strikes on Houthi and allied forces sites in Azzan and al Khanah regions in al Wazaih district, southwestern Taiz.
