Coalition fighters bombards rebels in Taiz and gunmen intercept travelers northern Lahj

The fighters of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition launched on Wednesday ten raids on the Houthi and Saleh forces sites in Kahbob area, east of Bab el-Mandeb Strait of, southwest of Yemen.

A military source told Almasdaronline that the strikes destroyed three armored vehicles and two heavy machine guns, and killed a number of Houthi militants and injured others.

In this context, the government forces in al Madharebah area of Lahj governorate exchanged heavy artillery shelling with the Houthi and allied forces stationing in Kahbob outskirts.

It is noteworthy that the Houthis and allied forces are fighting hard to control Kahbob mountains in southern Lahij in order to control the road linking between western Taiz and Aden.

In another context, the popular resistance spokesman in al Qabitah area, northern Lahj, have accused unidentified gunmen of assaulting the travelers in al Subhi area, between Lahj and Taiz, and said that the government forces and the popular resistance are not involved in those incidents.

"Unknown gunmen are setting up checkpoints in the al Sehr valley, west of al Qabitah, and assault the travelers, the last of which was an attack on Wednesday morning of a truck driver named Abdu Saleh Awad", the spokesman added.

"The gunmen asked  the driver a sum of money in exchange for allowing him to pass, and when he told them of not having any money they asked him to stop by and smashed the van and assaulted him, before the other drivers stand by him and the gunmen fled".

He pointed out that the road was still closed because of the assault incident.
