UN envoy to Yemen ends a short visit to Aden and no progress appears

The UN Envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, ended on Monday a short visit to Aden city, southern Yemen, during which he met with the President Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi and the Prime Minister Ahmed ben Daghr.

The visit ended without any signals of progress in the peace talks which are hindered since months, according to the Anadolu news agency, quoting a government source.

President Hadi stressed on holding to the government notes on the roadmap put forward earlier by the UN envoy to put an end to the fighting in Yemen, that is escalating since more than twenty months.

This could be a signal that the UN has made no changes or amendments to the roadmap which was rejected earlier by the pro-Hadi government.
