Forty rebels and government elements killed in fierce battles in Shabwa governorate

Around twenty three militants from the Houthi group and Saleh forces and seventeen members from the government and popular resistance forces were killed in fierce battles between the two sides on Tuesday in Baihan district western Shabwa governorate, southeastern Yemen.

A military source told Almasdaronline that the government forces have attacked the Houthis and allied forces locations in Hajar Kahlan outskirts and Tewal al Sadah and the surrounding areas, and the clashes lasted for hours.

The source added that the government forces retreated under heavy and fierce resistance by the Houthis and allied forces.

Meanwhile, the fighters of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition have launched several airstrikes on the rebels’ sites in Baihan and Asilan districts in Shabwa.
