Pro-government forces seize northern al Mocha, train the locals to keep peace

The government forces and popular resistance secured on Saturday the Khabet area, northern al Mocha district and western Taiz, southwestern Yemen, after fierce battles against forces loyal to the Houthi group and former president Saleh.

 

A military source told Almasdaronline that pro-government forces, backed by the fighter jets of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, had controlled al Khabet after clearing the landmines on the coastal line leading to the area.

 

The battles between the two sides were still flaring up, according to the source.

 

The source added that the government forces were likely to advance towards the Houthis sites in Yakhtel area, the hotbed of the Houthi and allied forces after retreating from al Mocha city in the past few day.

 

At the same time, the pro-government forces intensified deployment of its troops northern al Mocha city, and established security centers nearby the residential town, the steam station, and the coastal sector camp.

 

The pro-government forces also started training dozens of the locals of al Mocha in military camps southern the city, in order to entrust them with keeping the peace in the city, according to the source.

 

On the other hand, the UAE Red Crescent is going on distributing relief materials to the people living in the northern and western neighborhoods.
