Otoma resistance leader: around 60 Houthi militants killed in the clashes

More than 60 Houthis militants were killed in the clashes that have been flaring between the Houthi militias and the popular resistance in Otoma district of Dhamar governorate, central Yemen, according to Abdul Wahab Mawadhah, the leader of the popular resistance in the area.

It is noteworthy that fierce clashes between the popular resistance and the forces loyal to the Houthi group and former president Saleh have renewed in Otoma after a suspension for more than a year.

Mawadhah added that the Houthis and allied forces have suffered huge losses.

Mawadhah also called on the “free men to prepare for countering the Houthi-Saleh militias and liberate the rest of the areas in the district from their grip.

Meanwhile, the popular resistance fighters have set an ambush for the Houthis in Halfan Mount, killing a number of them, injuring others, and destroying 3 military vehicles.

On the other hand, the Dhamr Resistance Council has stated that they will not remain idle after the Houthis’ attack on Otoma district.

Our reaction will be thundering, and it is time to clear the governorate from the Houthis and allied militias”.
