The Houthis hold 8 women with children in a checkpoint in al Jawf

A source in Barat district of al Jawf governorate, northwestern Yemen, said on Tuesday that the militants

of the Houthi group and the forces loyal to former

president Saleh were holding eight women with their

children in a public road.

The source told Almasdaronline that eight women from

Barat district were visiting one of their relatives in

al Hazam city in central al Jawf governorate, and while

going back to their village, which comes under the Houthi

control, the militants stopped them.

“The Houthi militants stopped the women along with

their children in one of their checkpoints on the public

road, and took the driver to an unknown destination”.

“The women and children have been held since 08am of

Tuesday morning until the moment with the Houhtis not

releasing them,” added the source.

Holding the women and their children have come by the orders of the Houthi prominent leader in Barat district Hassan Qaid Sharifah, who insists on holding the women in the checkpoint.
