Taiz: Pro-government forces advance in Mawza, Arab Coalition warplanes pounds Houthis positions

Following fierce fighting against the Houthi-Saleh forces, the pro-government and popular resistance forces have taken control of Hawzan mountain, which overlooks the road linking between al Nar mountain and Khalid military camp in Mawza district in western Taiz city, southwestern Yemen.

A source in the field told Almasdaronline that artillery and missile shelling was still flaring between the two sides, after the pro-government forces had seized control of the mountain.

The source pointed out that a pro-government officer and three soldiers were killed, and three others wounded.

The source added that five Houthi-Saleh militants were also killed and 10 others wounded in the fighting.

On the other hand, the Saudi-led Arab Coalition fighter jets have launched nine air raids on Houthis reinforcements and sites in Mawza and al Waziah districts.

Moreover, local sources told Almasdaronline that the fighter jets launched three air raids on Houthis sites and weapons store in Khalid military camp, which resulted in casualties.

Three air raids also targeted al Akamah area in Mawza district, and another raid on a military checkpoint in al Hamili bridge on the Taiz-Hodeida road.
