The governor of Saada province, far north of Yemen, Hadi al Waeli said that a landmine explosion targeted on Monday evening two senior military commanders of the pro-government forces in al Buq’a area of Saada.
Al Waeli wrote on his Facebook page that the landmine had targeted the cars of the Commander of Saada Military Region Brigadier Ubaid ben Hamad al Althala and the Commander of al Buq’s Military Region Bassam al Mehdhar, but no casualties were reported in the explosion.
The governor added that the explosion occurred while the two commanders were visiting the fronts of the fighting, which is flaring up between the pro-government forces and the Houthis-Saleh militias.
It is noteworthy that the fighting has been flaring since several months between the pro-government forces, back by the Saudi-led Arab Coalition Forces, and the Houthis-Saleh forces in al Buq’a area.
