10 casualties in fighting between pro-government forces and Houthis in Shabwa

 

A military source in Shabwa province, southeastern Yemen, said that that fierce fighting broke out Sunday morning between the pro-government forces and the Houthis - Saleh forces in the al Safra area of Asilan district.

 

The source told Almasdaronline that the fighting had resulted in the death of six militants from the Houthis and allied forces and four soldiers of the government forces 21st Mika Brigade.

 

 “The Houthis had also taken control of a military site eastern al Safra”.

 

The source pointed out that the Houthis’ launched the attack despite a temporary truce between the two sides, to open the roads to the besieged areas inside Bihan city.

 

It is likely that this attack will lead to closing the road linking the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa, and the areas controlled by the Houthis in Bihan and Assilan west of the province”. Added the source.
