Aden security forces kill suicide bomber tried to bomb the governor's house – source

A security source in the southern Aden city, Yemen’s interim capital, said that a suicide bomber was shot dead on Saturday by the security forces in Goldmoor area, where the Governor Aidrous al Zubaidi and the Security Director of Aden Shalal Shayi were living.

 

The source told Almasdaronline that the soldiers of a security checkpoint were suspicious about the suicide bomber as he was roaming the vicinity of Goldmoor Tunnel, before they ask him to stop.

 

However, the suicide bomber refused to stop, and the soldiers shot him dead”.

 

The source also stated that the suicide bomber was trying to blow himself up before he was killed, and an explosive belt was found with him, then the security authorities announced foiling a suicide attack targeting the governor's house.

 

In a statement, the spokesperson of Aden Police Abdul Rahman al-Naqib said that the suicide bomber was trying to escape towards the tunnel while shouting “Allahuakbar”, when the soldiers called him to stop, before they open the fire at him.

 

The spokesman added that the explosives experts had deactivated the explosive belt worn by the suicide bomber.
