Reporters Without Borders says Houthis arrest 10 journalists under appalling conditions

Reporters Without Borders condemned on Thursday the ongoing arrest of 10 journalists at the Political Security Department prison in the capital Sana’a by gunmen of the Houthis and pro-Saleh forces.

The organization said in a statement that the Houthis are detaining the journalists under appalling conditions for almost two years.

The organization called on the Yemeni government to take all possible measures to secure their release as soon as possible, adding that their health situation was worrying.

The organization also called for "an independent and impartial investigation under the supervision of international actors to identify all those involved in the crimes against journalists in Yemen, and bring all perpetrators to justice."
