Houthis abduct two local authority officials from Hamdan north of Sanaa – witnesses

The Houthi militants and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrested on Saturday two local officials from the government complex of Hamdan district north of the capital Sana’a, witnesses said.

The witnesses told Almasdaronline that the Houthis abducted the Director of Education Office Saber Hussein and the member of the local council of the district Abdullah Hussein al Dahak from the government complex without giving reasons.

The witnesses added that the Houthis-Saleh forces took the local officials to an unknown destination.

Meanwhile, the residents and local authority officials of the area had held the Secretary General of the Local Council Atef al Musali responsible for the abduction, and confirmed that the kidnappers were carrying out their duties and had nothing to do with the recent events.

The Houthis have earlier launched raids on homes in the Hamdan district and kidnapped dozens of anti-coup civilians.
