Tribesmen confront Houthi militants tried to storm village in Dhamar - source

A local source in Dhoran district of Dhamar province, central Yemen said that the tribesmen of Athin village had confronted Houthi militants came to investigate with the locals in the area.

 

A resident of Athin village told Almasdaronline that the militants aboard two military vehicles came to the village to investigate the incident of beating Houthi militants with sticks by the residents of the area on Friday in al Hasan mosque

 

Earlier on Friday, a number of Houthi militants shouted their slogan “cry” before they were beaten and their weapons and daggers taken from them by the locals”. 

 

 

"The tribesmen of Athin village confronted the militants and the military vehicles, and the clashes were about to break out, but a number of prominent figures and dignitaries intervened and forced the Houthi gunmen to retreat to avoid the armed confrontation in one of the largest villages of the Anas tribe”.

 

"The Houthis are trying to blow the situation up, after they had assigned sectarian preachers for the Friday sermons, despite the objection of the people." Added the source.
