Under aerial cover, pro-government forces wage an offensive on Houthis’ site east of Taiz – media center

The pro-government forces, backed by the aircrafts of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, waged an offensive on Saturday on the positions of the Houthis-Saleh forces east of Taiz city, southwestern Yemen.

The Media Center of Taiz Military Region wrote on “Facebook” that fierce fighting between the two sides was flaring around the Mohammed Ali Othman School.

The center added that the pro-government forces launched the attack to take over the school, under aerial cover from the Arab Coalition aircrafts, which bombed a military vehicle for the Houthis in al-Salal hill, and launched another raid on al Jasha hill.

Since early last week, the fighting between the two sides has been flaring east of Taiz city, and the pro-government forces were able to make large military gains, and have seized control of the headquarters of the Central Bank and the Faculty of Medicine.
