Government forces on Tuesday morning waged an offensive on positions of Houthi-Saleh forces in Karesh area north of Lahj province,southern Yemen, as a military source said.

The source told ALMASDARONLINE that sites of Houthi-Saleh forces in Talah Hmra hill and outskirts of al- Hawaimi area were bombed with artillery shelling by government forces in which the clashes between two sides continue.

Eight Houthis killed and a soldier of government forces was also killed and 3 others injured in the fighting, according to the source.

On the other hand, Houthi militias in al-Shurija, al-Hawaimi and Khudair areas launched an artillery shelling on Karesh area, inflicting 2 soldiers dead ,a military vehicle destroyed and some houses damaged.
