IOM posted on twitter that Smugglers forced, in two consecutive days, 280 refugees from the Horn of Africa to jump into the sea from two boats going to the Gulf states through Yemen.

On 9 August, 85 refugees out of 120 forced to be jumped into the sea were survived, 29 others drowned, and 6 still missing ''24 Ethiopians and 5 Somalis'', and on 10 August, 141 out of 160 were survived, 12 found dead, and 7 missing '' all of them Ethiopians''.
