A military source said that the fighting continued Tuesday between the Houthis-Saleh forces in al Selew district, southern Taiz city.

The source told Almasdaronline that the government forces thwarted the Houthis two attacks on al Seiratin and al Jabjabah villages, and on al Kadaha area of al Maafer district  while the Houthis fired artillery shells on residential neighborhoods and government forces sites from their positions in al Sharaf area northern al Selew.

The attack came hours after the Houthis took control of al Sayyar village after violent confrontations.

In another context, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle killed two soldiers of the 22nd Mika Brigade on Tahrir Street in the Taiz city, when a security source said.

Recently, assassination incidents of the National Army soldiers are increasing in the city, in the absence of police forces to do their duty to control security.
