After popular protests. Hadhramaut governor makes changes to Coast Electricity Corporation


The governor of Hadhramaut province, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, Major General Faraj Salemin al-Bahsani, on Wednesday made a number of changes in the sectors of the General Electricity Corporation and the Hadhramaut coast power plants.

The governor's decisions came amid a major decline in electricity service on the Hadhramaut coast and public protests denouncing the outage.

The changes made by the Governor of Hadhramaut included the appointment of Abdullah Faraj Abdullah Hamran, acting director general of the General Electricity Corporation of Hadhramaut coast region, in place of former director Mazen bin Makhshen.

The governor issued a decree commissioning Engineer Abdul Hakim Ahmed Faraj Busab’ah as general manager of the power plants on the Hadhramaut coast.

The governor also issued a decree commissioning Osan Mohamed Omar Bahussein, acting director-general of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor on the Hadhramaut Coast.

Hadramout province is experiencing public outrage over the deterioration of electricity service, which outages is raised up to 15 hours a day, causing great suffering to citizens.
