Five soldiers of security Belt forces killed in attack by extremist in Abyan


Five soldiers of security belt force soldiers were killed in an attack by suspected al-Qaeda extremists Friday morning at a security post in Abyan province (southern Yemen).

Local sources said that the extremists launched an armed attack on a checkpoint of the security belt forces in the area of al-Quoz cross, which belongs to the district of Modiah, and clashed with the soldiers using machine guns and RPG missiles, killing five soldiers and wounding the sixth, while the attackers withdrew from the point and left to an unknown destination.

Local sources said that members of al-Qaeda threatened to retaliate against the security belt soldiers who raided the homes of some of them a while a ago.
