Taiz security forces raid an explosives workshop in al-Samil market

Government security forces raided Thursday a workshop of "outlaw terrorist elements", used in the manufacture of explosives and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), at al-Semil market in the southwestern city of Taiz.

A press release from the security forces said that during the raid, 157 plastic bottles (5 liters) containing chemical materials for the manufacture of explosives and lethal toxic materials were seized.

He added that the security forces also found 7 empty boxes with detonation capsules for the manufacture of shells and explosives, and 4 manure bags (CITRIC ACID) that "these gangs are seeking to use in terrorist operations".

He noted that the material had been seized by government forces and placed in safe places.

This comes in the context of a security campaign and movements to stabilize the security situation in Taiz and halting assassinations by gangsters and Extremist groups “Abu al-Abbas brigades” which deployed in many areas of Taiz including Al-Samil Market and goes into bloody clashes with the security and army forces once a while.
