A fire in the grain silos in Hadidah following Houthi artillery bombardment

A major fire broke out in the grain silos of the Red Sea Mills south of the western city of Hodeidah, following artillery shelling by Houthi militants, a local source said on Thursday.

The source told the Al-Masdar online, that a mortar shell fired by the Houthis on the grain silos, resulting in a large fire in a silo lasted for hours.

He pointed out that the fire caused the destruction of a large quantity of wheat before the fire brigades of the government forces intervened to extinguish the fire and prevent its expansion towards the rest of the warehouses.

Although the ceasefire agreement entered the city of Hodeidah on Dec. 18, the agreement is witnessing repeated violations by the Houthis, the source said.
