Hadi urges Britain to pressure the Houthis to accept peace

President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi called on the United Kingdom on Tuesday to pressure the Houthis to accept peace, the state news agency Saba reported.

During his meeting with the British ambassador to Yemen Michael Aaron, Hadi said in Riyadh that the legitimate Government was keen to achieve peace despite the great intransigence shown by the Houthis, the latest of which was Sweden's agreement on Hodeidah.

"We support the efforts of the UN envoy to achieve peace, and we count on the pressure of the international community on the Houthi militia to comply peace and spare Yemeni blood, and we hope the United Kingdom will exert pressure on this militia toward righteousness," he said.

On the one hand, Aaron stressed that his country will do what it takes to support the legitimate government to get Yemen out of the state of war.
