Government forces destroy more than 7,000 mines in Sa'dah


The government forces on Wednesday removed and destroyed more than 7,000 mines, various forms, and sizes, planted by the Houthis before retreating from the Ketaf, Al-Boq’a and the triangle linking Sa'dah and Al-Jawf governorates.

Colonel Saif al-Salafi, commander of the engineering battalion in the Sa'dah axis of government forces, said in a press statement that the Houthis had planted mines on the international road, farms, villages and residential areas, which posed a serious threat to the lives of civilians.

He stressed that engineering teams continued to remove mines from various regions.

Engineering teams destroyed more than 20,000 mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from several areas of Ketaf and al- Boq’a districts during the past period.
