Fierce battles between Houthis and government forces in Hodeidah


Local residents in the western city of Hodeidah said that battles broke out between government forces and militants of Houthi group early Sunday, and the fighting was the fiercest for weeks.

According to al-Masdar online, violent explosions and gunfire were heard near the ring market, the 50th Street and the 7 July district, east of the city, where the lines of contact between the forces of the two sides are located.

They said the battles lasted for hours.

 The Media center of the government Giants forces said that the Houthis bombarded Mandhar area at the southern city of Hodeidah, destroying the house of one of the citizens and burning it and all the furniture and belongings inside it.

Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying the owner of the house developed  a stroke as soon as he saw his house turned into rubble by Houthis shelling"
