A soldier killed and several civilians wounded in clashes in Taiz city center


A soldier was killed and several  civilians were wounded in clashes with armed gangs on Monday in Taiz, southwest Yemen.

Local sources told al-Masdar online that clashes erupted on al-Awadhi Street, branched from Jamal Street between government forces and militants, the clash was over market taxes and royalties.

This resulted in the death of soldier Mohammed Khalil al-A'izari and the wounding of four other civilians, two of them in critical situations.

The clashes came a few hours after a vegetable vendor was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) in the  “Deluxe market” entrance on Jamal Street in Taiz City.
