5 people die of cholera epidemic in Dhamar within one week


Five citizens died last week as a result of the cholera epidemic, according to medical sources at the Dhamar General Hospital.

According to the sources, 5 deaths cases recorded  and were from the province's various directorates, only one week after the hospital received 90 cases and have been hospitalized.

According to the sources, the General Hospital's fevers Center, which is dedicated to receiving cholera patients, is full with many cases that are reported daily, especially during the recent period.

Activists from Dhamar Province assert that the province's situation is catastrophic as a result of the alarming rise in the cholera epidemic in the province during the past two weeks, unprecedented in the history of the province.

They appealed to local and international civil society organizations, as well as the World Health Organization (WHO), to urgently intervene to save the lives of scores of children and women affected by the deadly pandemic.
