After the "Southern Transitional Council " visiting to Moscow. Russian Ambassador: Secession of Yemen unwelcome

The Russian ambassador to Yemen, Vladimir Didoshkin, said his country affirms support for Yemen's unity, and does not welcome any political stances that it calls to secession, days after the visit of the so-called "Southern Transitional Council" calling for the secession of South Yemen from its north to Moscow.

In a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, the delegation headed by the Council's chairman, Aydaroos Al-Zubaidi, was to intervene in the Yemeni crisis in relation to the southern issue, according to media reports.

But the Russian ambassador to Yemen, who is visiting the city of Aden, the interim capital of southern Yemen, since last week, said at a press conference held in Aden International Airport, "Russia does not welcome the secession of Yemen and supports Yemen's survival."

He praised the growing security improvement in Aden.

He pointed out that his visit to Aden came at the invitation of the Yemeni government to know closely the situation in Aden, pointing out that his visit included a number of economic facilities including the electro-thermal station, the port of Aden and the central bank.

The Russian ambassador said that during his visit to the interim capital of Aden, he had been briefed on the damage done to the Russian Consulate general in Aden, praising the efforts of the legitimate Government and its willingness to reconstruct the consulate in the coming period.
