A military commander and two civilians killed in an explosive device south of Hodeidah


A military commander and two civilians, including a child, were killed on Thursday morning when an explosive device exploded while they were passing by a vehicle on the highway south of Hodeidah.

A local source told Al-Masdar online that officer Talal Kafash, assistant commander of the Tohami First Brigade and the first battalion commander, was killed along with two civilians, one of whom was a communications engineer, and the second was a child after an explosive device planted on the road exploded while they were passing by car, killing them.

According to the source's confirmations  to Al-Masdar online, the IED was planted on the highway between al-Khokha and Hees south and exploded in the car while the officer was returning  the engineers Anis Obaid Halisi aboard his car to his residence in Hees after he was hired to repair the communications network in the city of al-Khokha, while the third was a child of relatives of the engineer  Halisi.

The source said that the IED was planted by elements related to the Houthis and was aware of the movements of the police officer, who is one of the most important military commanders who emerged from the recent war and leads confrontations against the Houthis on the West coast, and works within the framework of the brigade led by Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Kawkabani, member of the Committee Control of the implementation of the withdrawal agreement from Hodeidah.
