53 people died of cholera in Taiz and Raima amid fears of increase of mortality


The number of deaths with cholera and watery diarrhoea has increased to 22, according to the Office of Public Health and population in the southwest Taiz province, according to reports that 31 people died in the province of Raima (central Yemen).

The epidemiological monitoring room of the public health office in Taiz said in a press release that the number of deaths has reached 22 since the beginning of this year 2019.

According to the operations room, cases were distributed in eight cases in Mawia, three in the Solow, two in Shar’ab, two in Jabal Habashi, two in Hayfan, and one in both Taizyah, Al-misrakh, Muzaffar, Same’a and Shamayteen.

At the same time, the number of cases of watery diarrhoea in the province was 5488, of which 335 were confirmed by the culture examination.

According to media reports, 31 people in Raima province have died since the outbreak of the fourth pandemic, which is ravaging the country amid fears that these figures will increase, especially in remote villages.
