Two soldiers and gunmen killed in armed attack on military police headquarter in Taiz

Two soldiers and a tribal gunman were killed and a civilian was wounded in a serious clash on Tuesday between the military police and an armed gang west of Taiz in southwest Yemen.

A military source told Al-Masdar online that an armed gang belonging to the "Saber" attacked the military police headquarters in Al-Muroor Street in order to release a person held in police custody.

According to the source, the attack was followed by clashes between military police protection personnel and armed assailants, in which two soldiers of the military police and a civilian were injured while one of the gunmen, Abdul Razzaq al-Mashra’ee, was killed while the civilian casualty, Mohammed Hazza Ahmed who was shot in the chest and his condition is critical.

According to the source, the clashes are continuing until the time 3 p.m. Tuesday.
