An improvised explosive device exploded in the south-east of Abyan injuring a civilian

A civilian was slightly injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the vicinity of al-Mahfad district, southeast of Abyan, in conjunction with the passage of a security commander in the UAE-backed local forces, according to local source told Al-Masdar online.

According to the local source, the IED, which was planted along the main road near the directorate, exploded after the commander of the security Belt forces Ahmed al-Kdach,  passed but a civilian near the scene was lightly wounded.

The incident comes shortly after the launch of the security belt forces in Al-Mahfad, last week, a campaign to secure the road linking the headquarters of the security Belt Forces and the Directorate Centre.
