The Nasserites in Taiz demonstrate in support of security. Military police confirm the arrest of 20 gunmen

The city of Taiz (southwest Yemen) on Saturday morning witnessed a peaceful rally called by the Nasserite party.

The rally was attended by members and supporters of the party from Taiz city and its suburbs and was launched from the "Bab al-Kabir " Towards the temporary headquarters of the Office of the Taiz Governorate on Jamal Street in downtown.

The demonstrators demanded an end to all security imbalances in the city of Taiz, the arrest of civilian killers and assassination cells, bringing them to justice, and accelerating the liberation of the province from Houthi militias.

In a related context, the Military police force command denied the alleged detention of civilian demonstrators coming from Al-Hujariah countryside at the al-Hinjar point in Al-Dhbab area, southwest of Taiz city.

The military police also confirmed that they had arrested 20 armed men in civilian clothes at the al-Hanjar checkpoint, who tried to enter the city without their identities, and who had pulled their weapons in an attempt to cross from the point by force and had opened fire in front of the police officers, which required them to be barred from entering the city, according to an  explanation Issued by the military police.

The event came a week after a demonstration called by the Islah party in Taiz amid tension in the city over the backdrop of armed confrontations in the old city between militants affiliated with the "Abu Abbas" brigades and a security campaign commissioned by the governor to control elements outside the law.
