Houthis continue to detain dozens of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid in Ibb


For the 23rd consecutive day, the Houthi authorities continue to detain dozens of trucks loaded with UN humanitarian aid at an entrance to the city of Ibb.

An informed source said that the Houthi militia has been holding 189 trucks since early April in Al- Yateem area on the eastern entrance of Ibb City, and is known as Ibb customs.

According to the source, the trucks are coming from the province of Aden, some of which are following World Food Organization and other relief organizations, and the cargo was to be distributed in Ibb and a number of governorates under the control of the al-Houthi group.

The incident comes weeks after Houthi militias detained more than 28 trucks in February and were loaded with UNICEF humanitarian aid.

The al-Houthi group imposes large financial levies at the eastern port of Ibb three years ago under the name Customs food and Commodities while merchants pays customs in the southern port of Aden.
