A soldier in Al-Khokha was killed by clashes and a military commander's house was attacked in Taiz


A soldier was killed and five others wounded, including three civilians, on Friday as a result of clashes between government troops in Al-Khokha town in southern Hodeidah province in western Yemen.

A local source told "Al-Masdar online" that the clashes erupted between members of the Ninth Brigade Giants and their colleagues in the Tenth Brigade giants, and the clashes spread from the coast to near al-Khair mosque south of the city market.

According to the source, the clashes resulted in the death of a soldier, the wounding of two others and the wounding of three civilians.

The source said that the clashes ended with the intervention of the Brigade command and the security Department of Al-Khokha Directorate, and they detained a number of individuals in the case.

In the city of Taiz, unidentified gunmen on Friday evening attacked the house of war staff commander of the 170- Air Defense Brigade in the city centre.

Local sources told Al-Masdar online that unidentified gunmen launched an attack using bombs and medium weapons on the House of Brigadier Abdul Aziz al-Majidi on the lower Tahrir Street in Taiz City.

According to the sources, the attack was followed by violent clashes between the attackers and the guarding of Abdul Aziz al-Majidi's home, and  the reasons for the attack was unknown.

According to preliminary information, the clashes resulted in no deaths or injuries, and a number of  houses, shop fronts and vehicles were damaged near the house.

The attack comes a day after a similar attack on the house of Col. Mufadhal Al-Himiary, commander of the Maqbana front in Dahi area west of Taiz.
