The Association of Mothers of Abductees said that 128 abductees had lost their lives due to brutal torture in Houthis prisons and armed formations in Aden.

The association said in a statement issued on Wednesday in front of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Sanaa in conjunction with World Anti-torture Day (June 26th). "Hundreds of their sons, detained and forcibly hidden and subjected to the most heinous forms of physical torture, and psychological inside the al-Houthi prison and military and security formations in Aden. "

"The kidnapped have been subjected to systematic torture," where they are hidden for months under torture, isolated in solitary cells, handcuffed and legged, severely beaten until fainting, suspended for long hours, sexual violence, and the insertion of sharp tools in Their bodies, depriving them of food, drink and medicines, depriving them of exposure to the sun for long months, and many brutal methods  ".

The Association of Mothers of Abductees called on the UN Security Council to impose sanctions against those involved in the crimes of torture of abductees, detained and forcibly hidden persons.

It called on all rights and legal organizations to work to prosecute and bring to justice violators of human rights in prisons and places of detention, and reiterated its demand that the public prosecutor punish all those involved in the crimes of torture of their children, either jailers or the perpetrators.

The statement of the association stressed the need for the unconditional release of all abducted, detained and forcibly hidden persons.

More than 8,000 kidnapped, detained and forcibly hidden in al-Houthi prisons, some of whom are constantly tortured, including 24 journalists, academics, politicians and activists, are subjected to brutal torture in Sanaa's political security prison, while scores of detainees face torture in Bir Ahmed prison and other prisons under the supervision of pro-UAE forces in the interim capital of Aden.
